I am writing this to inform Tthe council men and womaen whom have the authority to change the outcome of my financial aid status.
My name is Issac Esparza. I'm 26 years old and I'm currently attending courses for A/C and refrigeration. I was informed today that my financial aid was denied due to my GPA being brought down by classes enrolled in at Austin cCommunity cCollege back in 2010. nNow, although my reason for these grades being so horrible was justified in my eyes. yYou may not agree. hHowever I hope you will take into consideration what I'm about to tell you.
I was 19 at the time and as if all the newly took in on responsibility I had taken on was not enough, I had just gotten married a few months before enrolling. Additio naddlly, I chose to get married only one month after I came returned from deployment in Iraq. I did not know it at the time, howeverbut iI suffer from Eextreme PTSD, so much so that I was found to be 50% disabled. nNow, with that being said, trying to sit in a classroom with 35 or so other people with my anxiety, depression and even my state of mind was extremely difficult for me so. mucThis iso twhaty I stopped attending classes after the first week. I was under the presumptioned that I would be dropped from the class, besingce it was my first time in college and I wastill not familiar with the system. I was unaware that it would make it difficult for my future opportunities if I did not formally withdraw myself. hHowever, I will admit that at the time I did not intend to attend any other college.
Now with that being said it is, six years later I i'am taking medication for my PTSD, anxiety and depression, asnd wellI asm still married to the same woman who has blessed me with three beautiful children. I have now come to the realization that in today's society and or economy, one cannot provide for a family without some sort of education.
I hope you can agppree wciathe what I have told you, andor if not, then to at least see it from my perspective and grant me a second opportunity, Sso that I may provide a better future for my family.
