In the first days that Africans had set foot on our country, they were judged by the color of their skin and were accused of having diseases. As once said by Martin Luther King Jr., "I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" (King 19). This has not changed in the years that Lee Warner wrote the book "To Kill a Mockingbird." This book has many changing characters that change, mature, and build relationships with others. Boo and the kid's relationship is the one that takes a long time to progress and change, which is one reason the book sucks readers in and keeps them wanting more.
