James Joyce (1882-1941) was an Irish novelist, short story writer, and poet. He is regarded as one of the most influential and important authors of the 20thtwentieth century. Joyce is best known for Ulysses'Ulysses' and the othershis other well-known works aresuch as the novel Finnegan Wake'Finnegan Wake' and the short story collection Dublinerscalled 'Dubliners'. Also, his short story Eveline'Eveline' which was published in Dubliners and itthe 'Dubliners' collection is about a young woman living in Dublin with her father. In Eveline'Eveline' we have the theme of memory, decisions, escape, paralysis and the stream of conscience.
To start with, the story is narrated in the third person by an unknown narrator and from the opening lines of the story it is apparent that Joyce is delving into one of the major themes of the story
