The purpose of this research assignment is to better understand the role of Social Worker during and in the aftermath of a disaster event. Social worker playsworkers play a vital role in helping vulnerable people during, and the after a disaster. A social worker is trained to help people deal with the stressors that come with disaster. The social worker profession mandates us to support the affected, and vulnerable population during and after a disaster. The purpose of the study is to survey social worker students at Sacred Heart University to help me find out their perception and readiness to deal with tragedy. During the survey, I will investigate the different viewpoints of social work Sacred Heart students toward disaster management. And, and the benefit of including a natural disaster course in the social worker curriculum program at the Sacred Heart University program.
