I remember Whenwhen I started working as a medical geneticgenetics resident, every day was interesting for me. I was exposed to syndromes and genetic disorders that I have not seen before. I have learned that key elements such as empathy, patience and compassion are essential to enhance the doctor patientdoctor-patient relationship. As a geneticgenetics resident, I constantly have to communicate with physicians from different specialtyspecialties, nurses and social workers that leadled me to develop high skills on teamwork and communication. I have enhanced my ability to communicate effectively through volunteering. I became a member of a volunteering organization that is specialized in the awareness of inherited diseasesdisorders. As a member inof this organization, I had the opportunity to participate in various public events, including awareness campaigns on common genetics diseasegenetic disorders, such as Down Syndrome as well as campaigns promoting preventive measures, such as Premarital Screening, which helped me build confidence to meet new people as I constantly interacted with new people every day.
