I took the population of the senior class of 150 students at Bishop Eustace and created a survey inwith which I collected data from 50 of those students. The purpose of the survey was to see where Eustace seniors travel in the summer, internationally or domestically. My hypothesis was that a majority of students go to the beach and travel internationally to places such as Europe. The main objective was to see what peoplespeople's plans are during the summer months. I used six questions to formulate my survey and went around school askedand 27 females and 23 males, a total of 50 students, agreed to take my survey.
I asked my questions in a multiple choice option, because I found that when taking a survey where you have to type in the questionanswer manually most of the time people don’t want to and so they skip it. I asked the age, gender, grade, if they travel out of state, if they go to the beach and if they travel internationally. I made my survey only directed forto the senior population and decided not to do every grade because I did not want to receive a result of undercoverage. I tried to target the population of 50 seniors, bywith 25 females and 25 males, however it came to 27 females and 23 males. The sample selection and diagram type of modeling of my survey is Small/Simple Random Sample. A SRS is chosen so that every set of n individuals has an equal chance to be the sample already selected. The explanatory variable of the survey was what the person’s travel plans are during the summer. The response variable was where they went. I would say I had one response bias because someone selected freshman as their grade, but I only asked all seniors. Response bias is a general term for a wide range of tendencies for participants to respond inaccurately or falsely to questions.
