Schools: are they really going to exist?
The advances of technology through the XX century has made possible a rolerange of new ways of interactionsto interact in modern times. Nowadays, all you need to talk to someone is an internet connection, no matter where they are. These changes will soon reflectbe reflected in the classrooms, where the chalk and the blackboard are still the most used objects.
The new virtual reality technology might be a game-changer when it comes to education. This will allow teachers to show 3D images and texts, students to watch classes in a virtual class and allow classrooms to gather a lot of people together at the same time. The teaching activity is going to be much more fun sincebecause the content will be manipulated by students as they manipulate real tools like pencils and erasers.
Considering these facts, schools might change the passive method, adopting a different point of view, where students need to interact with the content and doperform specific tasks, changing the passive method into an active way of learning.
This way, schools are going to exist, but in a different and better way in the future.
