My name is (name). I have been with the company for five years now. I started here as an EMT when I was eighteen and have been here since. I started working full time in 2018 with the start of the Novi contract. I also started off as a new paramedic on that shift, and I’ve stayed on that shift since. I recently also passed the UMBC critical care training and earned my certificate. With that said, I’ve returned full time to school to finish up my nursing program with two semesters remaining. I intend to be full time here still after that certification is earned.

The Clinical Performance program
peakspiques my interest. I think EMS providers, for the most part, are offered a very poor quality of education. I believe in-house education for this field in general is important at this time to remedy the poor quality of entry education. Assessing quality and knowledge of our providers is critical until a better standard of education can be achieved nationwide. Hence I’m writing this intent to be part of the program. I believe the EMS field is fully evolving from the old “stretcher fetcher” philosophy to a true healthcare delivery system. Thus, the next generation of EMS providers need to be educated to fully accept their responsibilities. The previous generation providers, on the other hand, will need to be continuously trained to assimilate. Private ambulance companies are a dime a dozen, so I believe survival in the market is highly dependent on the quality of its providers.
I hope my ideas and predictions of the future align with the company’s philosophy. And I hope I’m considered to be a member of this program.
