To get to this project, I had to do other experiments, which put me in constant uncertainty and frustration. Initially, it began with a project called Microscope, which came out because I felt powerless, discredited, and that all previous work was disposable. And it was after the presentation of it, that Professor Eva asksasked: “Is it this really you, or the self-portraits?” to which I replyreplied immediately, “The self-portraits, for sure”sure.” UntilUp to this day, this question persecuteshas persecuted me, because it opened another perspective, a path where it’s vital to see and not to just look at things without perceiving them. As Sun Tzu said, in The Art of War, “Self-awareness is the key, as if we know ourselves, we know which enemies we're able to defeat, and which enemies we should run from.” And this belongs to the art path, the works we know we should do, and the ones we should take out.
