The current threat to humans is the disease of coronavirus Covid-19. The virus has already killed millions of people regardless of who the individual is. The objective of this study is to analyse the Covid-19 prevention by the Malaysian government according to legal and Islamic perspectives. The historical background of Covid-19 in Malaysia is also discussed to explain how Covid-19 arrivearrived and spread widely in every state in Malaysia. The qualitative research methodology is used, which ismeans data areis collected from journals discussing the Covid-19 crisis and then compared with evidence in Al-Quran, hadith, tafsir, and Islamic legal maxim. The study found that Covid-19 prevention by the Malaysian government falls under the al-dharuriyat principle, which is the protection of life (hifz nafs), and all Covid-19 prevention by the Malaysian government complies with Shariah of Islam and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) in protecting the public's lives from Covid-19 in Malaysia. In this sense, it is a citizen's responsibility to be upheld to comply with all the instructions to avoid the Covid-19 spread widely in Malaysia. It is because prevention is always the best effort than finding a cure treatment. The positive individuals of Covid-19 are subjected to quarantines and recovery in the treatment units of patients. The patient's quarantine complies with the Prophet SAW's order to separate positive Covid-19 patients from safe persons.
