My name is Isabelle Turner, and I am a 9th-grade IB student. I have high-frequency hearing loss in both of my ears, which requires hearing aids and an IEP. Over the course of my education, I have had sovery many positive experiences with former teachers, being understanding and willing to help myselfme learn best in the classroom.
I am writing to you because of an unfortunate situation that has developed in one of Mr. Joshua Lynch’s concert orchestra classes. On multiple occasions, he has refused to make adjustments to the level that I am in, even though concerns about my skill level have been raised. He has always brushed off these concerns and defended his decision.
On November 9th, 2022, my Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher, Kelli-Marie Koch, sent Mr. Lynch an email advocating for a change in orchestra classes. He responded to her email on November 14th, 2022, stating that he is willing to move me up at the semester mark asbecause he agreedagrees that my skill level wasis much higher than the level I am in.
