Name: Walter Burke
Please keep Mr. Burke’s legs elevated at all timetimes when he’s in bed, chair, or on the sofa. He should also have his compression stockings on during the day and removed before bedtime. Encourage him to walk when possible, do. Do not massage his leg. Mr. Burke had DVT about a year ago, he’s. He’s not walking as he should, so if there’s a clot you shouldn’t massage it because it could cause the clot to break loose and travel to his heart, lungs, or brain. There’s also a small pressure ulcer on histhe big toe of his left foot. He said it hurts when it’s covered with the sheet. Don’t put any pressure on that foot, and keep it uncovered while he’s in bed. Both dressing inDressing on the heel and the toe should be done twice a day, morning and bedtime, to keep the wound dry. NewA new boot came in KYDEX -PRO on 10/23/2018. It's only for walking, you. You can take it off when he’s seatingsitting in the recliner or napping on the sofa. justJust make sure his foot is elevated with a pillow under both legs, heel suspended, and the PODOUS BOOT at bedtime.
Thank you!
